United we stand, together we care: Millwall FC’s Community Day
Millwall Football Club hosted its annual Community Day at The Den on Saturday (2nd March). Jason O’Reilly was part of the Kairos delegation. Here, he tells us about the day.
“Frank McDonald, several residents and I represented Kairos at Millwall Football Club’s annual Community Day. We showcased Kairos’ various services to the public, on a stall with other service providers. It was a really special atmosphere, with a real buzz around everyone involved and excitement in the air.
“Kairos has taken part in multiple community days with Millwall in the past and it seemed like even more services were involved this year. A big community event that’s getting ever bigger! A lot of volunteers took part, promoting Millwall FC and their Community Trust.
“It was a great to engage with the public, some of whom knew about Kairos and the work we do within the community. Others weren’t familiar and it was really powerful explaining our services and seeing their interaction and interest. Of course, Kairos and Millwall share geography and community, with the club located in our core South London territory.
“The game itself was a family atmosphere, despite the cold – made all the better as Millwall won one-nil! The whole Kairos crew had an awesome day.
“Thank you once again to Millwall Football Club for the invitation. We look forward to the next community day.”
