Kairos’ Team Unity takes on the Brighton Marathon

Last year, the Kairos ‘Ultra Athletes’ completed the Brighton 10k, raising over £1,000 for Kairos and enjoying a day of connection, physical wellbeing and support.  This year, support worker Steve and friend of Kairos Matthew are literally going even further.
2025’s ‘Team Unity‘ will be running the Brighton Marathon on 6th April.

Reflecting on last year’s challenge, Steve remembers:  “I was deeply moved by the outpouring of encouragement we received – it was a beautiful reflection of what Kairos stands for.  Support is the heartbeat of everything we do.”  It’s that same support that helps people keep going, whether that’s on the road to recovery or towards a marathon finish.

There are still two spaces left for anyone who wants to join the team.  With ten weeks to go, you’ll need a solid base level of fitness.  If you’d like to take on the challenge, please contact Steve via the Kairos office.

For those who prefer to support from the sidelines, you can sponsor Team Unity through their GoFundMe page.  Steve and Matthew will be sharing training updates in the run up to marathon day and all donations will help Kairos’ work supporting people in recovery.

As Steve puts it:  “Every cheer, every donation, every gesture of interest becomes part of that support system, carrying us one step closer to crossing the finish line.”
