Maudsley Charity: supporting mental health through Kairos
Mental Health Awareness Week (10-16 May) is the right moment for an update on our in-reach initiative made possible by the Maudsley Charity. Jason O’Reilly was one of the original Kairos recipients of the charity’s Community & Connection grant in 2019. He says: “As a part-time support worker on the Maudsley Charity-funded permitted work scheme, I did general in-reach work supporting Kairos residents as they moved on towards independent living and to assist with any domestic, medical and financial challenges. And now, as a full-time member of the Kairos supported housing team, I continue to visit and assist two of those clients as they continue to settle successfully in the community.”
The work made possible by the Maudsley Charity’s initial grant continues and Kairos is pleased to welcome FW to the in-reach team as a volunteer. Her enthusiasm and experience will be a great asset to Kairos and essentially to the individuals that she will support.
