Government grant for Kairos from C-19 fund
Kairos Community Trust is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the Government’s Covid-19 Homelessness Response Fund.
“We are very fortunate indeed to receive the grant. It has enabled us to remain open and to keep our services of 23 years running to support men and women with homelessness and addiction issues,” said Kairos director Mossie Lyons. “In particular, the grant has meant that we have been able to keep our residential rehab open with reduced numbers, as required by coronavirus guidelines. Our thanks go to the Ministry and to Homeless Link.”
The Covid-19 Homelessness Response Fund is providing £6 million of emergency funding from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to 133 frontline homelessness charities whose finances have been directly affected by the coronavirus. Homeless Link – the umbrella organisation for those working with homelessness – is distributing the funding.
