Representing recovery at INCA 2025 Celebrity Charity Lunch
Last Wednesday (21st May), Kairos Community Trust was proud to be represented at the INCA Charity Lunch and Charitable Endeavour Awards, held at The Building Centre in central London.
Organised by INCA, the Insulated Render and Cladding Association, the event was held in aid of CRASH, the construction industry charity supporting homelessness initiatives.
Director Mossie Lyons spoke as a CRASH charity partner, reflecting on the ethos behind our work. He described Kairos’ belief that homelessness and addiction are twin challenges, and how the bedrooms we offer are not an end point but a beginning. Drawing on a recent example, he spoke about what it means to arrive in one of our houses – often after a long and difficult journey through homelessness and addiction – and reframed each room as a changing room: a place where change becomes possible.
Mossie outlined the core elements that support each resident’s next steps: personalised support plans, a stable and safe environment, a sense of peer belonging and, where appropriate, access to counselling. Together, these provide the conditions in which people can begin to rebuild their lives and move towards lasting independence.
He closed by thanking CRASH for their long-standing, practical support, from expanding and refurbishing our properties to supplying materials, which is so instrumental in turning good intentions into real, lasting impact.
The event also included the INCA Charitable Endeavour Awards and a keynote speech from Olympic medallist and broadcaster Kriss Akabusi, who brought his trademark energy and inspiration to the afternoon.
