Bob Evans RIP
Bob was one of the first Kairos members I was introduced to when I started at Linden Grove 17 years ago, writes Vincent Mahe. Truth be told, I was a little unsure of him, maybe even scared, because he was a very proud man and enjoyed being loud and often borderline politically correct. As time passed, I got to know him and ended up being very fond of Bob’s demeanor. We did countless trips to the supermarket for our weekly shopping (this was before the internet was invented). By then, I was lovingly calling him Bob the Gob.
It was a real pleasure to see him and Sue at their wedding, looking so happy and complete.
Bob volunteered at Linden Grove for many years and I could not believe it when he announced he wanted to go back home to Wales. I have missed you, Bob, and I am saddened by your unexpected departure. I hope you are at peace, looking down on us, checking on the weekly shopping orders from above and laughing that unmistakeable laugh. Rest in peace.
