Brendan’s Irish Odyssey: the first fortnight

Brendan McGill is two weeks into his Irish Odyssey – a round-Ireland bike ride to visit family, have an adventure and fundraise for Kairos along the way.

Brendan arrived with his bike in Dublin late on the night of 28 May and set off  the following morning, heading south.  Since then, he’s spent a fortnight riding through amazing scenery in all weathers, pitiching his tent in fields, visiting family and friends, consuming vast Irish breakfasts and fish dinners. He’s visited Mizen Head, Ireland’s most southerly point, and is now travelling up the west coast. Yesterday, he crossed the Shannon to arrive in County Clare.

Thank you, Brendan, for all your lovely photos – and for your wonderful fundraising. This morning your My Donate page recorded a terrific £975. Thank you, everyone!
