Farewell, Frank Smith
Friends, colleagues, residents and former clients gathered at Linden Grove on Friday lunchtime to bid farewell to Frank Smith, manager of Linden Grove, who is leaving after 18 years with Kairos.
“Frank has been one of Kairos’s longest serving heroes,” writes Kairos Trustee Sarah Potter.
“From the earliest shoe-string chaotic days, he has been a founding member of staff steering Kairos towards the success story that it is today. He has worked so long with so many of the changes and challenges of Linden Grove. He has been a loyal and dedicated presence, supportive to Elizabeth and then managing the house himself. Although our paths did not cross so much, I sensed in Frank someone modest, calm and caring – just wanting to get on with the job in hand without any fuss. As such he can probably remember more Kairos people than most of us. There are many people past and present who must be very grateful of all his attentions. He is one of the old muckers and we will all miss him. Best of luck to you Frank and thanks for all you have given us.”
