CRASH wins PM’s Big Society Award

Kairos Community Trust congratulates CRASH – the construction and property industry’s charity for the homeless – on winning the Prime Minister’s Big Society Award last week.

Big Society Awards recognise and celebrate those doing exceptional work in their community, going above and beyond to make things better for others.

Announcing the award, Prime Minister David Cameron said: “The innovative approach CRASH takes harnesses the world-class skills and products of our construction industry to tackle the issue of homelessness. This Big Society Award recognises the remarkable achievements of everyone involved.”

Kairos has been one of the organisations to benefit from CRASH’s work. The materials, financial and professional help that the charity has donated to Kairos over the past nine years have enabled us to refurbish and extend our supported housing network.

“CRASH’s support has been invaluable and has helped us to put more roofs over more heads, year after year,” said Mossie Lyons, director of Kairos.
