Kairos residents, staff, trustees and friends gave the McGill family a warm welcome yesterday when Brendan and his parents, Roísín and Gerry, were our guests at lunch. Brendan has raised more than £3,400 for Kairos on his round-Ireland Odyssey by bicyle, pedalling 1,777 miles (without a single puncture!). Mossie Lyons thanked Brendan for his ride and his example of recovery through Kairos, then presented him with a copy of It’s All About the Bike: The Pursuit of Happness on Two Wheels by Robert Penn. Brendan got a great round of applause (soon followed by a very large cake).
