Different geographies, shared purpose
Over the past month, Kairos has been pleased to welcome Fr Nicholas Twumasi, founder of a treatment centre in Ghana, who joined the team at Linden Grove to gain experience of recovery services in the UK and learn more about our approach to supporting people in recovery.
During his time with us, Fr Nicholas, who has a background in addiction recovery and mental health, supported day-to-day activities in the office, joined workshops and topic groups and worked alongside staff and residents across the service.
While here, he was able to observe different aspects of our recovery work in practice, from structured group work to the role community plays in helping people rebuild their lives. Reflecting on his time with the team, Fr Nicholas said:
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to add to my experience on how things are done over there. This has enhanced my practice in the field. The team at Linden Grove is wonderful and I never felt a stranger with them.”
