Kairos receives funding from Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund

We are delighted to announce that the Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund has awarded Kairos Community Trust significant funding.

This grant will be used to sustain our essential operations, supporting people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and who have experience of homelessness.

It has been secured at a crucial time, as the demand for our work continues to increase.  By example, national statistics from the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities revealed that one in five people starting substance misuse treatment in 2022-23 had no home, and over one in twelve people starting treatment had a risk of homelessness within twelve weeks.

“This very timely funding has really helped us with rising costs at the most practical level,” says Kairos’ Director Mossie Lyons.  “It continues to be a challenging time for the sector and we’re mindful that a lot of organisations are under severe pressure.  This grant will make a huge difference in delivering our vital services.”

The Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund is delivered by The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK.

Our thanks to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport and The National Lottery Community Fund.
